SUMMARY:{Workshop} Incarnational Hermeneutic: The Interpretive Task of a CiM
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is focused on Chapter 2 of See.Do.Be.Free.: A Field Guide for Becoming a Community in Mission.  \nIn this workshop\, we will focus on the Incarnational Hermeneutic: the interpretive task of a Community in Mission. We will explore Jesus’ way of interpreting reality – his way of seeing God\, reading Scripture and making sense of life itself – especially with those who have suffered. We often refer to this as “doing theology from below.” It reveals the Good News of God’s solidarity with the scapegoated victims of history. \nThis workshop is an important conversation for those who want to create cities of peace for all people as modeled by Jesus.  \nWe will be joined by guest speaker Peter Choi. Peter is the Executive Director of the Center for Faith and Justice and a pastor in San Francisco\, California. A historian of eighteenth-century North America\, Peter specializes in transatlantic revival religion\, early evangelicalism\, and world Christianity. \nThere will be time for small and large group conversation.   \nBefore the workshop\, please complete the following:\n– Read Chapter 2 in the See.Do.Be.Free. field guide (download the free PDF or purchase a printed copy)\n– Listen to the Reflection Companion for Chapter 2 (~6 min)\n \nhttps://streetpsalms.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/2-Reflection-Companion-Audio-Part-2.mp3\n  \nWho should attend: This workshop is designed as a conversation for novitiates\, partners\, the ordained\, and friends of the Street Psalms community\, and is open to all.  \nJoin Zoom Meeting:\nhttps://streetpsalms.zoom.us/j/82460050766\nMeeting ID: 824 6005 0766

SUMMARY:{Workshop} Incarnational Method: The Formational Task of a CiM
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is focused on Chapter 3 of See.Do.Be.Free.: A Field Guide for Becoming a Community in Mission.  \nIn this workshop\, we will focus on the Incarnational Method\, where we will look at the formational task of a Community in Mission. Specifically\, we consider Jesus’s highly relational method of formation known as induction\, in which he committed to walking with those he loved\, apprenticing them\, and helping them make sense of things along the way. \nThis workshop is an important conversation for those who want to create cities of peace for all people as modeled by Jesus.  \nWe will be joined by guest speaker Julia Robinson Moore. Julia is a scholar of African American religion and a minister within the Presbytery of Charlotte\, North Carolina. Her work focuses on the intersections of racism\, religion and racial violence. \nThere will be time for small and large group conversation.   \nBefore the workshop\, please complete the following:\n– Read Chapter 3 in the See.Do.Be.Free. field guide (download the free PDF or purchase a printed copy)\n– Listen to the Reflection Companion for Chapter 3 (~5 min)\n \nhttps://streetpsalms.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/3-Reflection-Companion-Audio-Part-3.mp3\n  \nWho should attend: This workshop is designed as a conversation for novitiates\, partners\, the ordained\, and friends of the Street Psalms community\, and is open to all. \nJoin Zoom Meeting:\nhttps://streetpsalms.zoom.us/j/82460050766\nMeeting ID: 824 6005 0766

SUMMARY:{Workshop} Incarnational Design: The Creational Task of a CiM
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is focused on Chapter 4 of See.Do.Be.Free.: A Field Guide for Becoming a Community in Mission.  \nIn this workshop\, we will focus on the creational task of a Community in Mission that we call Incarnational Design. Incarnational Design taps into the creational nature of humans and applies it to the work of social innovation for the sake of the city and the most vulnerable. What we are interested in here is a narrow slice of the creational task\, focused on models of social innovation that lead to human flourishing. \nThis workshop is an important conversation for those who want to create cities of peace for all people as modeled by Jesus.  \nWe will be joined by guest speaker Father Greg Boyle. Father Greg is a Jesuit priest and the founder of Homeboy Industries\, the largest gang-intervention\, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. \nThere will be time for small and large group conversation.   \nBefore the workshop\, please complete the following:\n– Read Chapter 4 in the See.Do.Be.Free. field guide (download the free PDF or purchase a printed copy)\n– Listen to the Reflection Companion for Chapter 4 (~6 min)\n \nhttps://streetpsalms.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/4-Reflection-Companion-Audio-Part-4.mp3\n  \nWho should attend: This workshop is designed as a conversation for novitiates\, partners\, the ordained\, and friends of the Street Psalms community\, and is open to all.  \nJoin Zoom Meeting:\nhttps://streetpsalms.zoom.us/j/82460050766\nMeeting ID: 824 6005 0766

SUMMARY:{Workshop} Incarnational Framework: The Evaluative Task of a CiM
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is focused on Chapter 5 of See.Do.Be.Free.: A Field Guide for Becoming a Community in Mission.  \nIn this workshop\, we will focus on the evaluative task of a Community in Mission. We will consider the underlying questions regarding Jesus’s way of seeing\, doing and being\, and how it frees us to love and serve. We see the Incarnational Framework as a way of reflecting on each of our CiM’s efforts to live out its dream. The Incarnational Framework uses a simple rule of thumb that is easy to remember: See. Do. Be. Free. It helps leadership get to the incarnational heart of things quickly. It allows us to tell ourselves the truth about God\, ourselves\, and our call to love the world. In this sense\, it invites us to measure what matters.  \nThis workshop is an important conversation for those who want to create cities of peace for all people as modeled by Jesus.  \nWe will be joined by guest speaker Sarah Moore. Sarah is the co-founder of Beyond Data\, Senior Fellow for Applied Research at Street Psalms\, and Professor Emerita at the University of Puget Sound. She joined the Department of Psychology in 1993 and has taught courses in Industrial-Organizational Psychology\, Applied Psychological Measurement and Statistics. \nThere will be time for small and large group conversation.   \nBefore the workshop\, please complete the following:\n– Read Chapter 5 in the See.Do.Be.Free. field guide (download the free PDF or purchase a printed copy)\n– Listen to the Reflection Companion for Chapter 5 (~ 6 min)\n \nhttps://streetpsalms.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/5-Reflection-Companion-Audio-Part-5.mp3\n  \nWho should attend: This workshop is designed as a conversation for novitiates\, partners\, the ordained\, and friends of the Street Psalms community\, and is open to all.  \nJoin Zoom Meeting:\nhttps://streetpsalms.zoom.us/j/82460050766\nMeeting ID: 824 6005 0766
