Fellowship Track
A funded Fellowship for leaders focused on a specific project that builds the capacity of their local community in tangible ways.
Street Psalms offers funded Fellowships for leaders embedded within local partners on the ground. These Fellowships are awarded to those leaders who have a specific project that builds the capacity of their local community in tangible ways.
About Street Psalms Fellows
A Street Psalms Fellow is a leader who has a way of seeing, doing and being that frees them to love and serve in the shape of a Community in Mission (see the Incarnational Framework). We offer a variety of Fellowships, each which focuses on a different "task" of a Community in Mission:
- Preaching Peace Fellowship (3 years): Focused on the interpretive task of a CiM.
- Contextual Model of Formation Fellowship (2 years): Focused on the formational task of a CiM.
- New Models Fellowship (1 year): Focused on the creational task of a CiM.
- Evaluation Fellowship (1 year): Focused on the evaluative task of a CiM.
Capstone Project Profile
As part of the application process, each prospective Street Psalms Fellow will present a capstone project which ought to be designed to grow the capacity of their local Community in Mission (CiM). By capacity, we mean the formational capacity of the CiM’s leadership to walk with the people they serve over time, in context, and in community. The capstone project must develop the local leadership and community to undergo the baptismal journey that changes the community’s operating system from a system of sacrifice to a system of mercy. The shape of the project will vary from context to context. However, there are certain criteria that will qualify a capstone project for approval; see the application below for more information.
Application Information
Applications are currently closed. Details for the 2026-27 cohort will be announced in early 2026.
Key Elements
All Fellows should be rooted in their own local Community in Mission. Regardless of the type of Fellowship, the core elements Fellows are committed to include:
Curriculum: We have developed a suite of resources ordered around five separate but highly interrelated areas that point toward how to pursue the common good of the city to which you belong. We suggest reading the corresponding chapter first, then attending the connected workshop, and then completing the online course for each topic area. These resources include:
- The See.Do.Be.Free. book, which is our primary text of the Street Psalms Seminary.
- Five core workshops, which can be taken in any order and are offered annually live and online to connect the community to one another:
- Becoming a Community in Mission: Outlines the kind of community Jesus breathed into existence – one that is capable of both individual and systemic transformation.
- Incarnational Hermeneutic: Helps a community in mission read and interpret Scripture with Easter eyes, and engage reality with the “intelligence of the victim.”
- Incarnational Model: Examine how Jesus inducted his disciples into their shared humanity, and what that means for the task of formation common to a community in mission.
- Incarnational Design: A co-creative process that invites us to participate in the ongoing act of Creation, essential for a community in mission to be an agent of innovation in the world.
- Incarnational Framework: We allow Jesus’ way of seeing, doing and being (and how it frees him to love and serve) to examine our own lives and the community in mission we serve.
- Five online courses, which are asynchronous and can be completed in any order. Set up an account to save your progress and keep track of your course completion.
Community Rhythms: Street Psalms offers ongoing rhythms, including daily prayer, weekly lectionary reflections, and a monthly Commons service. Our global community is an important part of the experience, and we highly encourage participation in ongoing rhythms offered.
Contextualization: Engage in dialogue with supervisor(s) at apprenticeship site around core content (minimum of 1 hour monthly). All of the elements of the tracks offered as part of the Incarnational Leadership Program are designed for those who are embedded within a local community where they can work out the implications of the conversation over the long haul. Street Psalms’ role is to jump start a conversation that gets worked out in the context of the participant. A community in mission in Nairobi operates differently from a community in mission in Manila or Denver. Those who are not embedded in a local community where they can work out the practical implications of this conversation over time will lack the main ingredient necessary to make the content come alive.
Additional preparation (optional)
- Watch recordings of two-part Forgiving Victim series workshops.
- Familiarity with the Making Peace with God online course content.
- Engage in vision trips, courses, and other experiences beyond the core requirements.

Apprenticeship Sites
The campus of the Street Psalms Seminary is made up of a global network of apprenticeship sites dispersed throughout the world. These partners on the ground do the vital work of apprenticeship or walking alongside local leaders as they undergo formation for the risky work of liberation. If you would like to be considered as an apprenticeship site, please reach out to Joel Aguilar (jaguilar@streetpsalms.org) so we can share more about what is required and what the benefits are.
FAQs
You will be well-suited to join the Fellowship Track if you have completed the Core Track, are rooted in a local community in mission, and have interest and capacity to complete a capstone project that is focused around developing a model of social innovation that has organizational or citywide/regional or network impact.
There is no cost to participate in any of our program tracks. All curriculum, content, and community rhythms are free and open to all who wish to participate. We encourage all participants to make a donation to give back to the community as they are able. Street Psalms will host an annual Vision Trip, which is optional for Fellowship Track participants to attend (and required for the Novitiate Track). Vision Trip expenses can be paid for with your funding from Street Psalms and/or other funding sources; limited needs-based scholarships will be available.
The funds should be used for any costs connected to your project, including but not limited to: travel to annual in-person gathering with Street Psalms; hospitality costs; covering the cost of your and/or your apprenticeship site mentor’s wages; and more.
Overall, the Fellowship Track will take 2-3 years (including completion of the pre-requisites). After completion of the Core Track, during the final year you will execute on an approved project, including meeting at least monthly with your apprenticeship site supervisor. The time commitment for this is variable depending on the scope of your capstone project.
Congratulations! You are now considered a Street Psalms Fellow. You should plan to continue to engage with the broader community and join in the offered rhythms.
No. At this time, we are only funded projects connected to an existing and approved apprenticeship site. You are welcome to join the Core Track and participate in the community.
