Director of Marketing and Communications

Street Psalms is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Marketing and Communications. This role will combine strategic marketing leadership with hands-on content creation to amplify our organization’s mission and engage our diverse network of partners, donors, and ordained members.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Marketing and Communications will work together with the rest of our Senior Management Team to give leadership to Street Psalms. This role will combine strategic marketing leadership with hands-on content creation to amplify our mission and engage our diverse network of partners, donors, and ordained members. This person will oversee a small team of part-time contract employees to execute on the various deliverables connected to the broader marketing and communications strategies.

The Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for:

Marketing Strategy and Brand Development

  • Establish a comprehensive marketing strategy, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels (email, social media, website, etc.). 
  • Refine our brand identity and messaging to communicate our unique identity as a religious order committed to forming leaders who create cities of peace. 
  • Develop clear value propositions for different audiences.

Communications

  • Lead our digital presence, including: managing our website, email marketing, social media, and digital learning platforms that reach over 7,000 people. 
  • Create compelling content that shares the stories of transformation happening through our network of 40 active partnerships that represent more than 100 cities. 
  • Oversee traditional print materials for key events and donor communications.

Content Creation and Storytelling

  • Creation of and oversight over written, visual, and multimedia content that brings our work to life, including capturing and sharing stories from our ordained members and partners.
  • Develop resources for our formation programs.
  • Create materials that help local churches understand and engage with our models of social innovation.

Donor Communications and Development Support

  • Create and oversee donor communications that demonstrate the impact of their investments. 
  • Develop annual reports, impact stories, and campaign materials that show how we're freeing leaders to love and serve their cities. 
  • Assist with expanding and retaining our donor base through meaningful engagement.

Partnership Engagement

  • Develop communication strategies that strengthen existing relationships and attract new partners. 
  • Create resources that help partners implement the Street Psalms Incarnational Framework in their contexts.
  • Develop resources that facilitate knowledge sharing across our network.

Metrics and Impact

  • Develop and track engagement metrics to gauge success of marketing efforts and communications.
  • Develop and track metrics for donor development.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience with the suite of Google Applications.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis, likely a few times annually.
  • Experience serving  in vulnerable urban communities across diverse faith traditions.
  • Experience developing and leading teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience with MailChimp.
  • Familiarity and experience with Canva.
  • Previous experience working in a non-profit environment.
  • Grasp of basic theological concepts and an openness to ongoing learning and development.

Compensation and Benefits

This role is a full-time, fully remote staff position, who will report to the Executive Director. Monthly benefits include a nominal reimbursement for healthcare and business expenses. Compensation will be based on experience and determined by the Board-approved salary bands. The base salary range for this position is $80k-$110k.
