How do we read Scripture through the eyes of Jesus and what does that reveal about God and what it means to be human?

In this conversation, James Alison applies the insight of Rene Girard to the task of interpreting Scripture. James suggests that the question we bring to Scripture is not, “What does the Scripture say?” The more important question is, “Through whose eyes do we read it?” James explores what it means to read Scripture through the eyes of Jesus, and what that reveals about mercy at the heart of God.
